We understand that in order to be successful, companies depend on the people behind the products and services they provide. That’s why we partner with our customers to earn their trust, not just their business. For over 80 years, our team has invested in solutions to help our customers be the go-to service provider in their area. As the southeast’s leading distributor of heating, cooling and ventilation products, we work closely with exclusive brands such as Carrier, Bryant, Heil, and more. Although our product line continues to expand, our purpose has remained the same – to help dealers and contractors grow their business and make more money. Selling equipment, parts and supplies is what makes it all possible. We are proud to be an industry leading heating and air & plumbing distributor in the Southeast.
Mingledorff’s, Inc. was founded in 1939 by Walter Lee Mingledorff Jr., a 25 year old engineering graduate from Savannah, Georgia. Originally operating as a franchised Carrier heating and cooling equipment installation contractor, Mingledorff’s first job was to install an air conditioning system at his father-in-law’s home – the first air conditioned home in Savannah.
The original compressor from this installation can be seen in the Mingledorff’s– Savannah Showroom. It was still operating when it was replaced in 1988, 49 years after it was first started.
During WWII, Mingledorff’s ceased all operations to help in the war effort. Mr. Mingledorff himself went to work building minesweepers for the US Navy while many employees went to work for the defense industry or served overseas. At the end of the war, the company began operations again, becoming a direct distributor for Carrier Company and adding diversity by expanding into the retail appliance business.
Today, Mingledorff’s Inc. has over 41 locations across the southeast. The company has also obtained full distribution rights of Carrier and Bryant for the majority of Alabama, the panhandle of Florida and Southeast Mississippi. Since 1958, Mingledorff’s has concentrated on their core business as a wholesale distributor to air conditioning contractors and industrial accounts. As a heating and air distributor their number one objective is to provide dealers and contractors the tools and equipment needed for continued success.
